MATTHEW OWEN DYSON
AFRICAN MYSTERY II
The Photographer
Matthew Owen Dyson was born on 10 September 1992 in Johannesburg, South Africa. From an early age he was struck by the diversity and richness of creation in the African bush. After finishing school in Sandton, Johannesburg, he completed a three-year course in business administration. His fascination with the African bush led him to train as a ranger in Sabi Sabi, where he also gained a walking guide qualification, which is necessary to lead walking safaris in the beautiful but also dangerous South African wilderness.
In the course of his career, the South African with European roots has worked in some first-class lodges, including Sabi Sabi in Sabi Sands, Chitwa Chitwa, Simbambili, Thornybush River Lodge (now known as Saviti) as well as Thornybush Game Lodge and Amani Safari Lodge. He gained an excellent reputation as a ranger, but his passion for photography led him down new paths. He has been working as a professional videographer in South Africa for two years. His photographs show his amazing ability to capture the almost dramatic beauty of animals and wildlife at just the right moment. Matthew Owen Dyson is married and lives in Johannesburg.
