HEINO BURGER | NAIVE MALEREI
The Artist
Heino Burger was born in 1949 in Munich, Germany. After graduating from high school, he studied political science, sociology and media science for eight semesters at Munich’s Ludwig Maximilian University. He completed his subsequent studies at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Pedagogy in Munich in 1978. He worked as a social worker for the Munich Social Department for 31 years, retiring in 2011. After his retirement, he supported disadvantaged children and young people in Munich’s Hasenbergl district. He started painting after his Northern Irish wife Helena motivated him to visit the open studio of the Bavarian Cancer Society with her. He captured his love of Italy and Greece in his paintings. Heino passed away in 2023 and is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Heino was also a great dachshund fan, a passion he shared with his wife Helena. Three dachshunds played a wonderful role in their lives. During his time with the little four-legged friends, he experienced many happy but also dramatic events, eventually deciding to write about his and their adventures. The book can be purchased here online. His love for his dogs is why he liked to use his favourite animal as a signature for his works.
