The Artist

Dr. Guido Schoeldgen was born in 1949 in Düsseldorf, Germany. He studied with Prof. Weigmann at the Kunsthochschule Düsseldorf and Cologne from 1970 – 1973. In 1977 he received his doctorate in medicine in Düsseldorf with “Summa cum laude”. He worked as a fashion photographer, mainly in Africa from 1978 to 1995.  releasing various publications in 2001, 2004 and 2005. Since 2003 he has been photographing for “La Isla-Suenos de Libertad”, Reyes Caballero and the International Contempory Art Fair on the Balearic Islands in Spain. He also has an exclusive contract with the East Hotel in Hamburg for 133 original works, including the “Famous Ballet Scene”, 10×10 m, as well as photo shoots and sketches of New York. From 2015 – 2020 he worked in house and hotel design in Spain and South Africa, producing various artworks for designer hotels during the period. For the last forty years, Dr. Guido Schoeldgen’s artwork has been exhibited at various international exhibitions around the world. He runs a renowned hideaway hotel in South Africa with his wife Annette, which bears his artistic signature in various respects.

The Exhibition

As part of the event series “Art Culture Culinary”, busy people art gallery is exhibiting selected artworks by the photographer, artist and painter Dr. Guido Schoeldgen. Under the title “African Mystery” – “The Beauty of Women” – part 1 of our African series. Due to the Covid 19 measures, the exhibition was extended by 18 months.
