Anja Listl
Anja Listl was born in Passau in 1970. From 1987-1990 she attended the glass school in Zwiesel, where she studied glass engraving. In 1990, her path led her to the Austen glassworks in Bad Füssing, followed by another two-year stay at the Zwiesel glass school, where she studied glass design. After graduating as a glass designer, Anja Listl went into self-employment for a few years: Her studio in Pillham Castle / Ruhstorf became Anja Listl’s place for the free development of her creativity – for free form and space without limits. Since 1999 she has been working as a glass designer at the company Glas Dersch GmbH in Waldkirchen. Anja Listl has had numerous exhibitions at home and abroad since 1994. Her centre of life is the city of Passau on the Three Rivers.

Statement:
IDEA AND EXPRESSION BLEND…
It is the basic idea that guides me to produce creative work, also a bit of spontaneous creativity that brings to light the ideas that emerge from it. With glass cutting, glass melting, glass painting, a creative process begins when I enter into an inner connection with the object. No fixed rules, no time limits, no determination of space and form – but a free creative realisation that is partly unpredictable. Every piece has its own story, is also part of my story, is ultimately its own story. Sometimes I need to take a step back to rethink and reconnect, to continue working, to see where the finished artwork will take me.
Connecting the tensions from immersion in the inner world to the form and colour of the outer world is my greatest challenge: creating creativity!
